About Torland Industries

We got frustrated.
So we built
something better.

Torland Industries started in a garage in Perthshire. We make workshop equipment that actually solves the problems enthusiasts and professionals face every day.

Tom Davis, Founder of Torland Industries
How it started

I couldn't find what I needed. So I stopped looking.

I wanted a workbench that could actually keep up with how I work. Something strong enough to handle serious loads, adaptable enough to switch between mechanical work and fabrication, and organised enough that I wasn't wasting time looking for things. It didn't exist. Everything available was either underpowered, overpriced for what it was, or completely fixed in how it worked.

So I built my own. The first version was just for me. But as the design evolved — prototypes rebuilt, ideas tested, problems solved — it became clear that the frustration I had was shared by a lot of people. Home mechanics, fabricators, motorsport teams, professional workshops. Everyone was compromising because the right product wasn't available.

As someone with ADHD, I'm acutely aware of how much a poorly set-up workspace affects what you can achieve. A bad environment doesn't just slow you down — it stops you starting. That's personal. And it's the reason every Torland product is designed specifically to remove that kind of friction.

"For most people, the garage is the most compromised space in the house. We're working on fixing that — one product at a time."

Tom Davis — Founder, Torland Industries

What we stand for

Three principles behind every product decision we make.

01

Your tools should adapt to your work. Not the other way around.

A fixed setup is a compromise. Every Torland product is designed to change as your work changes — without tools, without downtime, without frustration.

02

Time in the garage is time well spent. We won't waste a minute of it.

Workshop time is finite. Families, jobs, responsibilities — it all competes. We build products that let you get started faster, work more efficiently, and get more done in the hours you have.

03

Premium means built so well you never have to replace it.

We're not chasing the cheapest price point. We're building equipment that lasts, performs under real load, and reflects the standard of work you do. The garage you're proud of deserves tools you're proud of.

Who we build for

If your garage is more than somewhere to park the car.

Torland isn't for everyone. It's for the people who take their workspace seriously — who see the garage as somewhere to build things, fix things, and get better at what they do.

  • Home mechanics & automotive enthusiasts People who spend weekends on project cars, track-day prep, and maintenance jobs. Who know the difference between doing it properly and bodging it.
  • Fabricators & welders Anyone who switches between different disciplines — mechanical work one day, fabrication the next. One bench that handles both without compromise.
  • Motorsport teams & race workshops Environments where efficiency, reliability, and speed of setup directly affect results. We build for teams where time in the workshop is time on the clock.
  • Professional workshops & trade businesses Garages, specialist engineering, agricultural workshops, and trade businesses that need durable, adaptable equipment that earns its place every day.

500kg

Load rating on every standard bench. Built to handle serious work.

Our mission

Help people work better in the space they have.

We're building a product range around a simple idea: better workshop equipment leads to better work, and better work leads to more enjoyment. We're starting with the workbench. We won't stop there.
